The Art of Bridal Styling: My Journey & How to Find the Wedding Gown That’s Truly Yours

Written by Bridal Stylist & Wedding Content Creator Logan Baker- Owner of Love, Logan

Choosing your wedding gown is one of the most intimate decisions you’ll make during the planning process. It’s not just about fabric or silhouette — it’s about how you feel when you see yourself, how you move through the day, and how the dress becomes part of your story.

As a bridal fashion stylist, I’ve had the privilege of standing beside hundreds of brides during that moment — the quiet pause, the breath held, the subtle smile when they realize this is it. My approach to bridal styling has always been rooted in one thing: helping brides feel like the most honest version of themselves.

My Background in Bridal Fashion

My path into bridal fashion began long before I ever launched my own business. I spent years working inside a luxury bridal boutique, where I styled brides daily, worked closely with designers, managed quality control, and oversaw special orders. That experience gave me a deep understanding of how gowns are constructed, how they truly fit on real bodies, and how emotional the dress selection process can be. Over time, I realized my passion wasn’t just in the gowns themselves, but in guiding brides through one of the most personal decisions of their wedding journey. Today, I bring that expertise into my work as a bridal fashion stylist and wedding content creator—helping brides feel confident, understood, and fully themselves, while capturing their story with intention and care. I currently own my own business, Love, Logan and serve brides as a Wedding Content Creator and Bridal Stylist.

What Bridal Styling Really Means

Bridal styling isn’t about pushing trends or fitting into a category. It’s about understanding who you are, how you want to feel on your wedding day, and what details matter most to you.

A bridal stylist considers:

    •    Your venue and overall wedding aesthetic

    •    Your personal style (not just what’s trending online)

    •    Comfort, movement, and confidence

    •    How the gown photographs and films throughout the day

The goal isn’t to change you — it’s to refine and elevate what already feels true.

How to Find Your Wedding Gown

Finding your wedding dress doesn’t have to feel overwhelming. Here’s how I guide brides through the process:

1. Start With Feeling, Not Fabric

Before you think about lace, silk, or tulle, ask yourself how you want to feel. Romantic? Effortless? Sculptural? Timeless? This emotional starting point makes decisions clearer.

2. Consider Your Venue

A gown should belong in its setting. A garden ceremony, an estate wedding, and a candlelit ballroom all ask for something different. When the gown and venue speak the same language, everything feels cohesive.

3. Try Styles You Don’t Expect

Some of the most meaningful “yes” moments happen in gowns brides never planned to try. Keep an open mind — silhouettes often surprise you once they’re on the body.

4. Trust How You Move

The right dress isn’t just beautiful standing still. It should feel natural when you walk, sit, dance, and hug the people you love. Movement matters more than mirrors.

5. Listen to Yourself

Opinions are everywhere, but your reaction is the one that counts. When a dress feels right, it’s usually quiet — not forced or performative.

Why Styling Support Makes a Difference

Bridal styling isn’t about telling you what to wear — it’s about helping you see yourself clearly. Having someone who understands construction, fit, trends, and storytelling allows you to make confident decisions without second-guessing yourself.

Whether I’m guiding a bride through gown selection, refining her overall bridal look, or capturing the final result through wedding day content, my role is always the same: to support, refine, and honor her vision.

Final Thoughts

Your wedding gown isn’t just something you wear — it’s something you experience. When chosen with intention, it becomes a reflection of your story, your season, and the love you’re celebrating.

Bridal fashion should feel personal, empowering, and deeply yours — and that’s exactly what I strive to create for every bride I work with.
